The True Observer Intelligence Training Programme is an internal, invitation only volunteer Training designed to equip participants with the essential OSINT, digital-forensics, and reputational-risk analysis skills required to operate within the True Observer network.

This edition focuses on practical intelligence gathering, evidence integrity, and ethical fieldwork, preparing certified volunteers to collaborate in real operations under UK and EU legal frameworks.

Objectives

By the end of this programme, participants will be able to:

1. Perform structured open-source investigations using secure environments (VMs, VPNs, hardened browsers).
2. Collect, hash, and document evidence following forensic-grade chain-of-custody standards.
3. Detect and log defamation, misinformation, or brand misuse patterns across major platforms (YouTube, X, TikTok, press media).
4. Apply UK and EU defamation, data-protection, and media-ethics laws in digital contexts.
5. Work as vetted outsourced volunteer agents for True Observer’s Intelligence & Reputation Defence operations.

1. Format: 5 Zoom sessions
2. Duration: 4 weeks (Autumn 2025 Edition).
3. Delivery: Hybrid. Online portal + live classes.
4. Assessment: Progress quizzes + final forensic exercise.
5. Access: Private. Only pre-approved volunteers with TOV ID credentials.

Certification

Participants who complete all modules, pass the final exercise, and maintain full attendance will receive a True Observer Volunteer Certification (Autumn 2025) and eligibility for inclusion in the Active Operations Roster as verified external intelligence contributors.
