Description
Short description
A macOS‑based OSINT workstation for users who require Mac compatibility, using a secure Ubuntu OSINT virtual machine for operational work.
Overview
This Intel‑based MacBook Pro is selected intentionally for x86 compatibility with Linux OSINT tooling. It provides a familiar macOS experience while allowing investigations to run inside a fully isolated Ubuntu virtual machine.
This is not a consumer Mac setup. The hardware is chosen to support sustained virtualisation workloads and predictable OSINT performance — prioritising compatibility and stability over aesthetics.
Operational configuration
Host OS
- macOS Ventura (last officially supported version)
OSINT Environment
- Ubuntu LTS virtual machine
- UTM virtualisation
- Pre‑configured OSINT workspace and folder structure
All research, evidence, and tooling runs inside the Linux VM, keeping macOS clean and separated.
