Just as CCTV captures incidents, our volunteer community enables us to observe issues earlier, more effectively, and from a greater distance. True Observer is a new initiative, and although our resources are limited, we depend on individuals who can identify, document, and report potential violations online, including misinformation, defamation, trademark misuse, breaches of platform terms and conditions, and violations of information, press, and data protection laws.
See it · Report it · We resolve
If you support a club, public figure, or brand (like Apple or Audi), you can help safeguard them by reporting abusive or potentially illegal content. We evaluate each case, gather evidence using OSINT methods, and escalate issues with platforms, publishers, and, when necessary, legal teams.
What Volunteers Do
– Monitor public platforms (YouTube, X/Twitter, TikTok, Twitch, digital press, forums, podcasts).
– Report findings with essential evidence: URL, date/time, clear screenshots, and brief context.
– Classify issues (misinformation, defamation, impersonation, personal data breaches, T&C violations, etc.).
– Submit reports using our template to initiate a case and prompt actions (notice, correction, takedown, legal dossier).
What We Don’t Ask (and Won’t Allow)
– No hacking, intrusive scraping, doxxing, or handling of minors’ data.
– No private messages, non-public information, or direct contact with targets.
– Avoid uploading unnecessary sensitive data; only use open sources.
Become part of True Observer’s intelligence network.
– By joining our Volunteers Programme you unlock much more than a downloadable training manual.
As a verified volunteer you will receive exclusive access to several hours of on-demand video training, covering the full OSINT & Online Reputation curriculum—from digital footprint mapping and advanced search techniques to evidence preservation and real-world case studies.
These courses, together with the manual, give you everything you need to collect, analyse and document open-source intelligence to professional standards while protecting privacy and complying with EU/UK data law.
